BIBLE STUDY: The Authority Of The Bible

Can you trust the Bible? Is it merely a collection of myths, fables, and ancient beliefs; or are its remarkable teachings, promises, history, and end-time prophecies actually reliable and true? Whatever your current beliefs are, one thing is certain; The Bible is a vast collection of ancient writings that have survived for thousands of years – and ALL of its many authors, actually claimed they were inspired by God, to write down what they did! Join us as we take a closer look at this very old book, and see how the Bible that you and I know today came into being!

Bible Study Instructions: One Nation Under God Ministries (www.onug.us) publishes and distributes weekly Bible Studies, worldwide – free of charge, to anyone who requests them, in both printed and electronic formats. Our Studies are intended to be a simple and fun way to learn the Scriptures, and are very easy to follow! We adhere to Jesus Christ’s Biblical instructions to teach and feed the flock of God portions of meat in due season, on weekly Sabbaths, and on the seven annual Holy Days throughout each calendar year (Luke 12:42 / Isaiah 28:9-10 / Matthew 13:52). Using both the Old and New Testaments, our Bible Studies are designed to present a premise, make a statement, or ask a question – followed by one or more Scriptural references. Just look up and read from your Bible the Scriptures listed. Comments following questions elaborate on the Scriptures you just read. Pray always before beginning any study of God’s Word, asking God to open both your eyes and your mind to His Truth; then Prove everything you read, is in fact the Truth, by comparing it to The Word of God (1 Thessalonians 5:21 / 2 Timothy 3:15-17). Then use the Biblical System of Checks and Balances, and SEE if both Jesus Christ, and the First Century Church of God Apostles – also Did, Said, and Taught these SAME THINGS (Galatians 1:1-12, 5:25 / 1 Peter 2:21, 25 / 1 John 2:3-6)! That’s all there is to it! Our Bible Studies are based on the King James Version, unless otherwise stated. We will be praying for your eyes to “see” (Matthew 13:11-17); and we are always available to answer any of your questions! Be Blessed, in Jesus’ Name! - One Nation Under God Ministries (www.onug.us).

The Authority of The Bible:

Skeptics and non-Christians usually want proof that the Bible is trustworthy, and that it has not been corrupted. Many others ask, “How can I know that what is attributed in the Bible to Jesus, as His actual words and deeds; that they happened just as they were written?”  The whole world wants to know, “Is the Bible reliable or not?”

Lost But Not Forgotten!

All of the original writings of the Bible have been lost; they no longer exist anywhere in the world! The parchments and papers, clay and even stone tablets, have all decayed into dust, worn out, been burned, broken, or otherwise destroyed (Isaiah 51:6 / Hebrews 1:10-12)!

The second law of thermodynamics states that everything tends toward disorder; it wears out, it gets old, it falls apart - the physical pages of any Bible are no different!

But before those old pages of ancient Bibles were lost, they were copied, and copied, and copied many times over (Matthew 24:35 / Mark 13:31 / Luke 21:33 / Matthew 5:18-20 / Luke 16:16-17)! God had to have a way to preserve His Truth (John 8:31-32, 18:37-38, 17:17-19, 1:1-4, 15:3, 6-11).

The very mission of God, and the very mission which God gave to Jesus, who then gave that very same mission to us - of preaching the Gospel to the whole world, and teaching ALL nations, ALL the things Jesus taught us to teach (Matthew 28:18-20 / Mark 16:15-20); that mission is absolutely dependent on having the very Word of God meticulously preserved in great detail (Matthew 24:1-28 / Revelation 12:1-17, 11:1-19 / Matthew 24:29-31 / 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 / 1 Corinthians 15:41-45, 49-55 / Daniel 12:1-4 / Zechariah 14:1-5 / Revelation 20:6, 5:9-14, 20:5 / Ezekiel 37:1-28)!

If Satan could lose the Word or corrupt the Word, sometime within the span of many generations; then Satan could corrupt the very Plan of God (Hebrews 2:9-10)! Surely, the Captain of our Salvation would prevent the devil from sabotaging His Work, and Jesus could and would preserve the Written Word for us; and He certainly has (Matthew 16:18-19 / Mark 16:19-20 / 2 Timothy 3:13-17)!!! Praise God!!!

A System of Checks and Balances:

The original copies of every Scripture have been lost to time and antiquity; but the copies of copies, of the original Scriptures were incredibly accurate, extremely meticulous, and very precise – and they do still exist for us to read, speak, and hear today!

The people who copied them were extremely dedicated to Almighty God, and to their copying tasks which He assigned them! They took absolute care when copying the original manuscripts. Their copying methods were so exact, and so precise, that the New Testament alone – to this very day - is considered to be 99.5% textually pure!!! That is a claim no other ancient source of information can claim today (Romans 10:9-18)!

This means that of the 6000 plus existing hand written copies of ancient New Testament texts (originally written in the Greek language), and an additional 21,000 existing hand written copies in other languages; there is only one half of 1% variation within these translations! Of this one half of 1% of very minor variations; the great majority of them can be easily “corrected” or “verified” by comparing them to other copies that don't have these "typos" in them. Simply reading the context of these verses, in two or more different copies, acts as a kind of check and balance system, and proves the exactness of the Bible translations! Most copying mistakes occurred as simple word repetitions, spelling errors, or a single word omission - probably due to the copyist missing something when moving his eyes from one line to the other. Every variation in the texts, if it occurs at all; are all very minor, indeed! None of the errors ever discovered actually affects a doctrinal truth; and we can rest very comfortably assured that the very words and deeds of Jesus Christ are superbly and reliably transmitted to us!

Throughout the course of human history, the changing seasons of empires rising and falling (Psalm 75:1-7, 10 / Daniel 2:20-23), and languages evolving from one into another (Genesis 11:5-9); The Holy Scriptures of God have been guided by His very steady Hand, and have actually been passed on to each new generation by the very Creator who made them in their mother’s wombs (Jeremiah 1:4-10 / 1 John 3:1-24)!

Today, we refer to the science of studying ancient literature, the accuracy of translating texts, and the transmission of historically accurate data, as “Historicity”. The Bible is clearly the leader in this field of study - with its exceedingly amazing accuracy of translations, transmission of concept from the originals texts to present day copies, and in the sheer number of surviving manuscripts throughout history – more so than any other book! If one were able to discredit the Holy Bible as being inaccurate or unreliable, then it would also necessitate the discarding of all other sources of ancient literature, such as Aristotle, Homer, Plato; since these “classics” were far less preserved for us, in quality of translation, transmission, and quantity of surviving manuscripts with which to verify original source content! The Bible is king in every area in which one would hope to preserve exactness of detail from one generation to the next! Amen!!!

Does God’s Word Contain Errors? No!!!

If the Bible is inspired by God, it cannot contain any errors! It also cannot contain contradictions and inaccuracies (Isaiah 28:9-10). Most of the confusion among critics who actually take the time to read the Bible, and then cite supposed “scriptural errors”, fail to understand God’s rule for interpreting Scripture, cited in Isaiah 28 above.

As an example, let’s look at the Two Genealogies of Christ:

Both Matthew 1 and Luke 3 give us the genealogies of Christ. To some, the two accounts may appear to contradict each other, when in reality they actually complement each other!

Joseph’s Lineage:

Matthew’s genealogy (Matthew 1:1-25) is very clearly that of Joseph, and was recorded by Matthew for legal purposes. Legally, the Jews of Jesus’ day looked on Jesus as the son of Joseph (John 6:42). Matthew was trying to prove to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah (John 11:25-27), and Jewish custom that time was to track ancestry through the father’s side of the family.

A very interesting side note, one that we will come back to shortly, is that all those who worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:23-24), will acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God, NOT the son of Joseph (Matthew 11:27, 16:15-17 / John 1:49-50, 5:25, 8:58-59, 10:36, 11:4, 17:1 / Mark 14:61-62 / Luke 3:21-22)!

The real point of Matthew’s account of Joseph’s lineage was to emphasize that Jesus had to be born of a virgin! What many fail to understand, even today, is that Jesus could never sit as a King, on the throne of David, if Joseph were His real father! Let’s go back to Matthew 1:11-12 and see that “Jechonias” (or Jeconiah in the Old Testament) was one of Joseph’s ancestors. Ok, so what?

Well, if Jesus was the biological son of Joseph (who was a descendant of Jechonias (Jeconiah) that would have been a real deal breaker to God! God would never let a descendant of Jechonias ever rule in Judah, ever again!!! Jeconiah (also called “Coniah” in Jeremiah 22:24-30), was Joseph’s Great, great (times 12) grandfather; and he was so evil that God cursed him with permanent exile, and then God cursed his children, so that they would never ascend to the throne ever again!!!

God said, “no man of his (Coniah’s) seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah (Jeremiah 22:30). The word “childless” in this context means childless as far as having any heirs to the throne went. Obviously, Coniah or Jeconiah (Jechonias) had physical offspring who did continue to have kids, right up and to the birth of Joseph (Matthew 1:12-16 / 1 Chronicles 3:16-18), and then beyond.

Did Mary, the Virgin Mother of Christ, have other children with her husband Joseph, AFTER the birth of Jesus? According to the Bible, Yes she did!!!

One of the more controversial teachings of the Catholic Church is the “perpetual virginity of Mary”. This doctrine asserts that Mary remained a virgin after the birth of Jesus, and that Biblical references to Jesus’ siblings, are in fact, really referring to His cousins (Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 510).

As the very ancient worship of a “Mother / Son” god from pre-Christian pagan religions increased throughout the centuries; “Mother Mary”, or the Virgin Mother, would become the Catholic method of choice - to convert old pagan sacred traditions into “new Christian doctrines”! Rome never minded that they were not explicitly taught in the Bible; so why then, they reasoned, should we?

The virginity of Mary is clearly taught in scripture - when describing the birth of Jesus. But the doctrine of her continued virginity is NOT supported by the Bible! Mary lost her virginity to Joseph AFTER Jesus was born; and Scripture shows us that a physical, sexual union between her and Joseph, did result in other children being born to Mary - the biological half brothers and half sisters of Jesus Christ!

The Bible does not declare that Mary remained a virgin, or that she had no other children. In fact, the Bible states otherwise (Matthew 1:24-25, 12:46-47, 13:55 / Mark 6:2-3 / John 2:12 / Acts 1:14 / 1 Corinthians 9:4-5 / Galatians 1:19)! Jesus did have brothers and sisters!

But such obvious scriptures are not left unchallenged by Catholic Theologians. Their primary argument against these biblical texts is that the Greek language uses the word “adelphos” for brother, and “adelphe” for sister. These words can be used in different contexts, such as for children of the same parents (Matthew 1:2, 14:3), for descendants of parents (Acts 7:23, 26 / Hebrews 7:5), for the Jews as a whole (Acts 3:17, 22), etc. Therefore, the Greek word for “brothers” and “sisters” can and does refer to the cousins of Jesus, in some, But Not ALL instances within the New Testament.

We are called to be Scripturally honest, and must admit that the Catholic theologian does find some merit in this argument. However, different contexts give different meanings to words. It is NOT a legitimate argument to say that because a word has a wide scope of meaning, that you may then transfer any part of that range of meaning to any other text that uses that same word! In other words, just because the word brother means fellow Jews or cousin in one place, does not mean it has the same meaning in another. Therefore, each verse should be looked at in context to see what it means.

Let’s briefly analyze a couple of verses dealing with the brothers of Jesus (Matthew 12:46-47, 13:55). In both of these verses, if the brothers of Jesus are not brothers, but His cousins, then who is His mother and who is the carpenter’s father? In other words, mother here refers to Mary. The carpenter in Matthew 13:55 is referring to Joseph. These are literal translations and literal applications of proper word usage! Yet, most Catholic theologians will then stop there and say, "Though carpenter’s son refers to Joseph, and mother refers to Mary; brothers does not mean brothers, but "cousins." This is NOT a legitimate assertion! You cannot simply switch contextual meanings in the middle of a sentence unless it is obviously required by the clear scope of the conversation or topic of discussion! The context in these verses is VERY CLEAR. This verse is speaking of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus’ brothers. The whole context is of a family relationship: father, mother, and brothers (Hebrews 2:10)!!! Jesus Christ is going to make all who confess Him, a Son of God, just as He is a Son of God (1 John 3:1-3); just as Jesus had earthly brothers and sisters, He shall have heavenly ones too – sired by the very Same Father!

Now let’s get back to the two genealogies of Matthew 1 and Luke 3!

We have seen that there are No Contradictions in the Word of God, and that Scripture needs no help from man’s traditions or our faulty human reasoning to help us make sense of it! Joseph was NOT the biological father of Jesus, and Mary did have children from her husband Joseph after the birth of Jesus!

How then could Jesus be a descendant of David (Matthew 1:1 / John 7:42 / Romans 1:3-7), and still qualify to sit on a throne if he was NOT a descendant of Joseph? Enter the genealogy in Luke 3...

Mary’s Lineage:

Luke’s account of the genealogy of Jesus (Luke 3:23-38) may initially appear to be His lineage through Joseph; but it is not! Luke’s genealogy is actually Mary’s, His mother!!! There is no contradiction between Matthew’s genealogy (Matthew 1:1-25) and Luke’s! According to Jewish record keeping and usage, Mary’s genealogy was given in her husband’s name. The original Greek texts simply say “Joseph, which was the son of Heli” (Luke 3:23). But in reality, Joseph was the son-in-law of Heli, since his father was actually Jacob (Matthew 1:16).

Unlike Joseph’s lineage, there was no Divine Prohibition or block to the throne of David in Jesus’ actual bloodline through Mary. Her ancestor was David’s other son, Nathan (Luke 3:31). In order to fulfill His promise to establish David’s throne forever, God honored Nathan by making him the ancestor of the promised KING who would sit on David’s throne through eternity (Luke 1:31-33).

But there was a problem. How could Mary pass on David’s royal inheritance (the right to the throne) to her son Jesus, when all inheritances had to pass through male descendants? Well, according to Israel’s law, when a daughter was the only heir, she could inherit her father’s possessions and his rights, if she married within her own tribe (Numbers 27:1-7, 36:6-7). Apparently, Mary must not have had any brothers who could be her father’s heirs. Joseph became Heli’s heir (or son) by marriage to Mary (both of the same tribe), and then Mary inherited the right to rule on David’s throne; a right she could then pass on to Christ – both by bloodline and inheritance.

Both genealogies had to be recorded, not as contradictions as some suppose; but to establish Jesus Christ’s right to rule on David’s throne (Think about this when you read Peter’s words in Acts 2:29-36)!!! Joseph’s genealogy prohibited Christ from ruling – if Joseph was His real father, because Joseph was a descendant of Jeconiah, whose descendants were cursed. Using Mary’s lineage would further prove a virgin birth; and her marriage as sole heir of her father Nathan’s birth right, to Joseph of the same tribe, would guarantee that Jesus would inherit David’s throne through his mother Mary! Jesus was begotten by God’s Holy Spirit and was the Son of God!!! All those who worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:23-24), will acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God, NOT the son of Joseph! If Adam was the first flesh and blood son of God (Luke 3:38); then Jesus the Christ came in the flesh as the Great, Great, Great (times 76) grandson of God the Father! Just as Jesus is the Son of God, the first born of many brethren, so shall we be Glorified when Jesus returns (Romans 8:28-30)!!!

Does Scripture Have Historical Errors? Not in God’s Bible!!!

A co-worker of mine once told me about all the Biblical examples of historical error he learned about in his religious studies class at college. What some may consider to be errors, can be easily disproved and the Bible vindicated, if we will simply read what the Word has to say (Romans 1:22-32)!

Some think the Apostle Paul’s historical account in 1 Corinthians 10:8 contradicts Moses’ account in Numbers 25:9. Did 23,000 or 24,000 die in the plague? When we read both accounts carefully, we see that Moses in Numbers, tells us the total number of people who died in the plague. Paul informs us that most of them; 23,000 to be exact, actually died in one day – the remaining thousand died later.

Time after time, we find former challenges to the Bible’s accuracy are beautifully validated by archaeologists.

Another example is Daniel’s statement that Belshazzar was the last king of Babylon (Daniel 5:30-31). For centuries, historians disagreed and said Daniel was wrong; according to them, Nabonidus was the last king of Babylon. The Bible had to be wrong they said! Then in 1879, a clay tablet inscribed in cuneiform, revealing an ancient Babylonian chronicle, was acquired by the British Museum from an antiquities dealer. Thought to be a 4th century copy of a 6th century original text, it was originally called “the Annals of Nabonidus” (now the Nabonidus Chronicle); the document stated Nabonidus named his son “Belsarusus” (a variation of Belshazzar), and “entrusted the army and kingship” to Belshazzar while he campaigned in central Arabia. Belshazzar was therefore the second ruler of Babylon who reigned in his father’s absence. This explains why Belshazzar wanted to make Daniel the “third ruler” in the kingdom (Daniel 5:16).

Historians also once attacked the accuracy of the Bibles account in 2 Kings 18:13-16. It goes on to describe the struggle between King Sennacherib of Assyria and King Hezekiah of Judah. Hezekiah attempted to make peace with Assyria by offering their king a tribute in whatever amount he would chose. Sennacherib asked for 300 talents of silver and 30 talents of gold. When official records were discovered and translated, of the Assyrian king’s 701 B.C. campaign (notably from James B. Pritchard’s 1955 “Ancient Near Eastern Texts”) a problem developed; Sennacherib describes his tribute as “30 talents of gold, 800 talents of silver…” - this was 500 more talents of silver than what the Bible had said! Critics claimed the Bible was wrong, again!

But more recent discoveries revealed that Assyria and Judah used different standards for calculating silver, just as countries today use different standards for their currency. It turned out that 800 Assyrian talents of silver equaled exactly 300 Jewish talents of silver. The Bible’s account always had been correct!

A student who is new to the Bible, will ultimately find discrepancies that, at first, may appear to be errors. But under examination they will always prove not to be errors at all! Sometimes what appears to be an error is caused by faulty translations, in different versions of the Bible that are now in print. If a seeming contradiction cannot be immediately solved, don’t despair! You need only to dig a little deeper and go back to the source of your translation (John 10:35 / 2 Timothy 3:16). All Scripture is profitable – error is not!

The Holy Bible was written by those who were inspired by, and guided by, God! It is therefore accurate and true! The Bible represents historical occurrences and events with such great detail, that the clarity and accuracy of its yet future, predicted events, should instill reverence and great fear in those who read the words, “It shall come to pass” (The King James Translation uses this verse 120 times - starting with Genesis chapter 4:14. However the New American Standard Bible does not contain the phrase at all. Be very careful what “modern” version of the Bible you read! Men have done great harm to the TRUTH of God in recent years with the many, many “new” and “modern” translations available. The accuracy of preservation we spoke of previously is almost destroyed in some of these new renditions of the Holy Bible! Although it is not perfect, STICK to the King James Bible and you shall possess the majesty of God’s Word (Revelation 22:18-21 / Deuteronomy 12:32 / Romans 1:25)!

“It shall come to pass” -occurrences in other Bible translations:

New International Version                0
New American Standard Bible          0
New Living Translation                     0
King James Version                         120
New King James Version                 56
Revised Standard Version                8
21st Century King James Version    120
NIV formatted                                0
Worldwide English (N.T.)                  0
Young's Literal Translation               1
Darby Translation                            109

These omissions are important! God is the Only One who can call things that do not yet exist, as though they were; Only He can bring these things to happen, or “come to pass” (Romans 4:17)! When we remove phrases like this from Scripture, we begin to whittle away at the preserved majesty of our Father. God gave His Words to our fathers; we should in turn pass them on to our children in reverence, and in very like manner (Proverbs 22:6)!!!

Let’s look at two more examples of “modern day” translators’ attempts to change the Word before we move on…

Luke 2:33

New International Version (NIV): “The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him.”

New American Standard Version (NASV): “And his father and his mother were marveling at the things which were spoken concerning him;”

New World Translation (NWT): “And its father and mother continued wondering at the things being spoken about it.”

King James Version (KJV): “And Joseph and His mother marveled at those things which were spoken of Him.”

Did you notice how the NIV, NASV, and NWT all agree in calling Joseph, Jesus’ “father”? The King James rightly states “Joseph” instead of using “father”, as he was not Jesus’ Father (Matthew 23:9)! That leaves out your priest and all religious leaders; it leaves out everyone except your real Dad; and God up above!!!

Luke 2:43

New International Version (NIV): “After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.”

The NASV and NWT both say “his parents” as well.

Luke 2:43 in the King James reads: “And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and His mother knew not of it.”

There are many, many other exceptions, and willful departures from the Truth of God in some of these “new” Bibles. Buyer Beware (John 3:16-18, 20:31)!!!

When we look at the New Testament we realize that it was written by men who either knew Jesus personally, or were under the direct supervision of those who did. These Christians wrote what they saw and heard personally – about our Savior, and about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. They recorded His miracles and His sayings! You can’t poke holes in The Bible! It really all comes down to whether or not you believe what the Bible says about Christ, about Moses, and about ALL the Prophets (Matthew 4:4 / Luke 4:4 / Deuteronomy 8:3): “And The LORD spoke unto Moses saying...”  Do you?

“Now ye are clean through the Word which I have Spoken unto you!” (John 15:3).

“If ye abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you!” (John 15:7).

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him, to shew unto His servants things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John: Who bare record of the Word of God, and of the Testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the Words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand!” (Revelation 1:1-3).

As we Rejoice in the Privilege to be Called into God’s Church, and to keep God’s Sabbaths and Holy Days with those whom God has Called out of this world; let us also rejoice in the Eternally Powerful Authority of God’s Holy Bible – and Christ’s Promises!!! Be Bold in The Word! Be SALTY and be BRIGHT out there (Our One Nation Under God T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Membership Pins, Vehicle Stickers and Business Cards will help you do just that)!!!  www.onug.us

(Mathew 5:13-17) “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men! Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid!

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven!!!”

(continuing in Matthew 5:17-19)...

“Think not that I am come to destroy The Law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled!!! Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven!!!”

“To the only Wise God our Savior, be Glory and Majesty, Dominion and Power, both now and ever! Amen!!!” (Jude 1:25).

We can be SURE that the WORD of GOD is TRUE, and it is FAITHFULLY PRESERVED (Revelation 1:1-3, 22:16-21 / Matthew 24:35 / Luke 21:33 / John 17:6-19)!!! The Authority of God The Father, Himself, is at stake when we PROVE how God Speaks THROUGH His WORD to EVERY generation, from Adam, until He Returns to This Earth to dwell with Christ, and ALL of Mankind (2 Peter 2:12-21)!!! Jesus Christ EXISTS NOW to ENSURE this very Thing (Matthew 28:18-20)!!!

”But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one” (John 10:26-30).

Christians must learn to read the Bible, interpret the scriptures according to Biblical principles (Isaiah 28:9-10, / Matthew 13:52), and begin to apply the precepts they learn in their walk with God. Individual study is essential; coupled with fellowship times of group study, worship, and discussions of personal insights and observations.

We strive, each Saturday, to foster an open and welcoming atmosphere where Spirit led confirmation, clarification, questions, and correction can be made in the fellowship of other students of God’s Word.

One Nation Under God U.S.A. (www.onug.us) is working to unify the body of Christ in the worship of God the Father, in the way Jesus showed us to - in Spirit and in Truth! We strive to promote rediscovery of American History, and renew in current generations the Vision and the Covenant of our Founding Fathers.

“And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease… And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.  Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat”                     – Jesus Christ (Matthew 10:1, 7-10).
