The Oldest Of America's Proud Traditions
This Thanksgiving Day we invite you to do something spectacular, to participate in a tradition as old as America herself: Join millions of Americans who will be sending the unified prayers of a nation skyward.
In joyous gratitude, Americans the world-over, will send our prayers of Praise and of Thanksgiving to Almighty God, for the many blessings He has poured down upon these beloved United States Of America!
From the time the Pilgrims first gave thanks to God at Plymouth Rock, in 1620, until now; Americans have set aside one day each year, above all others, to acknowledge and praise God.
From the very founding of our Union, God has guided and blessed our human hands. It was God who led devout people to follow the dreams He put into their hearts; to achieve their destiny as God led them to see it. Using the wisdom of the Holy Scriptures as both a comfort and to instruct; our ancestors endured many dark trials and perils, building this nation while driven by a strong personal faith in God.
Americans are the recipients of God's Grace. We have been continually and divinely blessed throughout our short history, always knowing times and seasons of bountiful harvests, preservation and increase, peace and prosperity, wealth and power.
America is a peculiar nation, much different from the rest of the world. She has always turned to God, in the good times and in the bad; in times of celebration and in times of praise, in times of repentance and in times of mourning.
As we end the year 2009, many of us are troubled by the actions of a few powerful Americans who have forgotten their God, forgotten the many blessings He has poured out on our land, and even deceitfully imagined that their own success was bestowed upon them by the sweat of their brow, and the human wisdom in their own mortal heads. They have set themselves at odds with the Great Creator God, with His Wisdom, and with His Laws.
This Thanksgiving Day let us not be dismayed by the conduct of the wicked, but trust instead that our God will fulfill his word (Psalm 2:1-5). Let the overwhelming majority of the American people, the decent God - Fearing citizens who make up our bulk; continue on with the oldest of all American traditions: giving Glory, Honor, and Thanks to the Most High God, and to His Son, who has sustained us with His mighty Power these many years and showered us with Blessings, more than any other nation has ever received (John 15:4-5).
Enjoy this day with family, friends, and co-workers; or with the people fate and circumstances have joined you with! Remember too, those who stand duty, alert and ready this day on our behalf... those Americans who are prepared to fight, bleed, and die if necessary to keep our great nation and her people free.
Lift up in prayer, the almost 280,000 U.S. Military Troops, who are currently deployed around the world.. and also our nurses, hospital workers, surgeons, fire fighters, paramedics, law enforcement and correctional officers, who are right now saving and guarding lives, property, and our constitutional liberties... while most other Americans dine in comfort and in peace.
Let us honor their families, especially those of the injured and the fallen, who must endure another gathering with an empty chair at the table, and one less hand to hold. We owe them all a very large debt of gratitude for giving us everything, to preserve and protect what we often times take for granted.
This Thanksgiving Day, join your voice with ours in prayer to God... He is a Great and Mighty King over all the earth! May America never forget that it is God alone who subdues evil people and evil nations under our feet. It is God who chooses our inheritance for us and gives us every victory and every triumph. It is God who rules over the heathen whether they acknowledge Him or not (Psalm 47:1-9).
I am so thankful to have been born and raised in the United States of America! To be surrounded daily with so many God-fearing, Patriotic Citizens who know their God, know their history, and have a firm hold on their Divine inheritance. Thank you God, for blessing this nation with millions upon millions of Real Americans! These are the very same Brave and Patriotic Citizens who have always stood up, rolled up their sleeves, and jumped into every fight we have ever had, to keep our Republic FREE from maniacal tyrants, over the last 234 years.
Let every American rejoice today, and thank Almighty God for our blessed Christian nation (85% of us Mr. President), our divinely inspired Constitutional Republic (Isaiah 33:22), and that still shining beacon of light (Matthew 5:14-16), "One Nation Under God", the United States of America!
